IUCr Computing School – Artificial Intelligence in Crystallography

This satellite event to to the IUCr 2026 Congress from the 8th to the 11th of August aims to get researchers up to speed on the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their crystallography. Different from tool-only workshops, it will give you an understanding of the black box that is Artificial Intelligence, allowing you to build symmetry and physics based architectures.
The course welcomes everyone, whether you are a graduate student, theoretical crystallographer, beam-line scientist or developer!
Do you look forward to bridging the gab between machine learning and practical application? Then this course will empower you to do so, by a mix of plenary lectures and hands on tutorials.
To get most out of this course, it is recommended to have an understanding of core crystallography concepts, proficiency in Python (particularly NumPy and Pandas), linear algebra and basic calculus. If you are eager to start, please feel free to sign up via the link below, and don’t forget to pack your laptop!
